Prof. Hlumani Ndlovu (University of Cape Town) is a biochemical immunologist with a PhD from the University of Cape Town (2013). His research focuses on molecular factors that drive inflammation with a specific focus on tuberculosis and drug-induced liver injury. Prof Ndlovu is a winner of the TW-Kambule Emerging Researcher Award and a member of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Collaboration for TB Vaccines Discovery. He is also a member of the South African Young Academy of Science (SAYAS). He has been successful in securing independent research funding as a principal investigator from national funding agencies such as the NRF and MRC. He holds a Y-rating from the NRF.
