Creating a scholarly and research identity online: An introduction
ABSTRACT: Being a scholar requires us to wear multiple hats — such as researcher, educator, mentor, professional, manager, grant applicator, clinician, and many more. In order to fully occupy and manage these roles w03
.23e need to develop skills in managing our different identities. This introductory session and the series of practical engagements to follow is focused on exactly this — developing different identities by showcasing our expertise using online tools and portfolios. Following the introductory workshop, fellows may sign up to address particular topics in practical, small group environments.
PRACTICAL SESSIONS: The practicals will take place on the first Wednesday of
each month between 15:00 and 17:00. Wednesday, 1 September (“Developing your Research Profile online”); 6 October (“Developing your Teaching Portfolio online”) and 3 November 2021 (“Creating a video to disseminate research online”). Preparatory work will be required for these. Topics may be adjusted slightly based on requirement. Numbers will be capped and signing up for these sessions a week before, will be required.
